Dorothee Blessing is a Managing Director, and Co-Head of Investment Banking in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). She is also CEO of J.P. Morgan AG. In addition, she is a member of the firm’s European Management Committee and is Co-Chair of the Global Strategic Advisory Council. Dorothee also co-chairs the firm’s EMEA Diversity Council. Before being promoted to co-head the firm’s EMEA investment banking business in February 2020, she was regional Head for J.P. Morgan in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Israel and the Nordic region, responsible for all lines of business. Dorothee advises corporates on financial and strategic matters, including mergers, acquisitions and financings, as well as general corporate finance themes across various industries and regions. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Dorothee spent more than 20 years at Goldman Sachs, where she was a longstanding Partner and Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Banking in the German-speaking region and served on a number of global committees, incl. the Global Firm Wide Commitments Committee. Dorothee is a Board Member of A.P. Moeller Maersk, member of the board of Bundesverband deutscher Banken (Association of German Banks) and Deutsches Aktieninstitut. She is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of WHU and a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS). Dorothee studied at Hochschule St. Gallen (Switzerland) and HEC Paris (France) and holds a Master’s degree in business administration.
