Dr Timo Löyttyniemi is the Vice Chair for the Single Resolution Board. Vice Chair is responsible for the Directorate, which comprises of the Single Resolution Fund (SRF) and Corporate Services. The SRF consists of the following units: contributions and financing, and investments. He is the chair of the Fund Committee in contributions and in investment composition. The Fund Committee coordinates the work between SRB and National Resolution Authorities (NRAs).
Before joining the SRB, he has been the Managing Director of the Finnish government’s State Pension Fund (2003-2015). Earlier he had worked in various roles in banks and in investment banking. From 1996 to 1999, he was Managing Director of Norvestia Plc and from 1999 to 2003 was Head of Capital Markets of Mandatum & Co. Ltd. (Sampo Bank). He has led and participated in corporate finance, restructuring, recapitalization, capital structure and capital raising projects in international investment banking environments. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has a strong understanding of academic research in both economics and in corporate finance.
SRB Vice-Chair Timo Löyttyniemi will speak at the EAPB annual event. This conference, taking place close to the SRB in Brussels, will focus on a variety of themes, with Mr Löyttyniemi speaking on 'The Common Backstop and its Role for the European Resolution Framework'.
