Petra Nemeckova

Petra Nemeckova is a Member of the Legal Service of the European Commission since 2011. In 2014, she also served as Member of Cabinet of the (former) Vice-President and Commissioner for Competition.

Graduated in Law (Ph.D) and Economics and with LL.M in European Legal Studies, Petra is a qualified lawyer in Spain and in the Czech Republic. Before joining the Commission, she gained professional experience in practising competition and European law at international law firms. 

As part of her work at the Legal Service, she represents the Commission in numerous Court cases, in particular in the field of financial services, bank resolution, investor-State arbitration, State aid and intellectual property rights. She frequently litigates before the European Court of Justice and arbitral tribunals. She also acts on behalf of the European Union in cases brought before courts of third countries.
